At Rivertowne Family Chiropractic Wellness Center, we understand that visiting a new St. Charles chiropractor for the first time can be an overwhelming experience. With most first office visits at a new doctor, there’s a lot of paperwork to fill out and questions to be asked before you can move onto your actual appointment. To make things run more smoothly and to take the stress out of your first visit, we’ve taken the time to provide you with some useful online resources here at our new patient center.
Save Time with Online Forms
Why spend the first 20 minutes of your appointment filling out paperwork in the waiting room? All of our new patient forms are available here in our website; you can easily download and print these at home. Then, save yourself time on the day of your appointment by simply bringing them into our office already completed. As soon as we process your paperwork and get it entered into our system, we’ll get you seen by our chiropractor without delay.
Understanding Your Payment Options
We often get asked, “Do you take my insurance?” We understand that you and/or your employer pay a lot for your insurance and you want to get the most of your insurance benefits. We want to help you do just that, and on your first visit we’ll get a copy of your insurance card and check your benefits. If your insurance covers chiropractic care in our office, we will file all claims for you and make every attempt to get all the benefits you’re entitled to.
Our experience has shown that with rising deductibles and copays, your insurance may not cover much of your care. In fact, due to the limitations insurance companies have placed on chiropractic care, we have opted to stop participating in many plans. We believe your care should be based on our exam and x-ray findings, and not a standard number of visits dictated by your insurance.
Don’t worry; in order to keep our care affordable, we have created cost-effective payment options that will be clearly outlined for you before you begin care in our office. For many patients, our care plans are actually more affordable than their insurance deductible and copays.
What to Expect on Your First Visit
When you come to your first chiropractic care appointment, our team will spend the first part of your appointment getting to know you. We’ll take some time to review your medical and family history, ask you some questions about your health and lifestyle, and give you an opportunity to tell us about any concerns or questions you have about your health. From there, we’ll perform an evaluation to determine the cause of any symptoms you may be experiencing, such as neck pain or back pain. A typical first visit will include a consultation and examination with the doctor and spinal x-rays. You can expect your first visit to take about 45 minutes if you have your paperwork completed when you arrive.
Once we have a better idea of the causes of your symptoms, we can come up with a customized treatment plan to help you get your health back. Your plan can include specific chiropractic adjustments, physio therapy, postural exercises, spinal decompression and cold laser. If we can help you, we’ll tell you if we can’t we’ll try to find someone who can.
